Fun with Grandma and Grandpa Tatom

He is handsome isn't he?

One of these things is not like the other ones...

Uncle Billy and Irena

Well I know it has been a long time, but I finally have some time to post. Mark's family was here the 10th-15th and we had such a good time with them here. Mark, Coytt, Uncle Billy, Grandpa and Billy's girlfriend Irena went to the D-Backs game and an ASU game. I enjoyed visiting with Mark's mom and Grandma, and getting to know Irena. Coytt loved having company and people to play with him. My camera was out of batteries so I have the pictures Mark's parents took. They both are enjoying photography, and so we went up to Payson where they could take some pictures of the scenery there, I posted some of my favorites. We really had a good time playing games, eating, laughing, eating some more, and just being with eachother. Mark's dad thought it would be funny to get Coytt to say Grandma and was teasing Barbara about being a "Grandma" so Grandma Donna thought she would teach Coytt to call Corby "Pappy". Well Coytt tried his best to say "Pappy" but it kept coming out "peepee" so of course we all got a good laugh and Coytt thinking he was cute and funny kept pointing at Corby saying "peepee peepee" with a big smile on his face. We can't wait to see them again it was so much fun having them here.

My Werewolf

OK, so I have been sucked into the world of Stephenie Meyer and the Twilight series. And yes just like everyone says they are addicting. I feel like such a horrible wife and mother, my house has been neglected, Coytt has been watching way too much TV, and even while I feed Dalon I can't put them down. I am a slow reader so it takes me awhile to finish one, but they are still hard to put down. I just finished New Moon and am a little way into Eclipse. Now last night at around 11:45pm as I was still up reading I had an epiphany. See I found myself rooting for Jacob over Edward throughout the whole book. Actually I have been having a hard time even picturing Edward in my mind or even liking him throughout the books. Anyway I found myself wanting Bella to fall for Jacob and forget about Edward. I know they love each other, and it is a deep love, but I just couldn't picture Edward being better than Jacob. So as I pondered this and finally finished New Moon and put Eclipse down, I went to do the one thing that truly comforts me and helps me sleep. I snuggled up next to my husband whose body heat is always so warm I hardly need blankets at night. He is so warm it soothes my aching muscles and I never need a heating pad. Anyway, that is when it hit me. I like Jacob because I married a werewolf and not a vampire. Ok to those of you who haven't read the books this means nothing to you, and I am sorry for the freakish post. Anyway, as I thought about why it is so easy to like Jacob better than Edward it is becuase it has been hard for me to picture an atractive pale guy with light eyes and bronze hair. But when it comes to dark skin, hair, and eyes I am tongue tied. And Edward's cold dead body ewwww I don't care how buff he is. I'm not saying I married a monster (for those of you who are completely confused) I am just saying that as far as my "type" I prefer werewolf to vampire. So this morning I told Mark he was my werewolf and he just looked at me like I was crazy...I wonder why? I am wondering if anyone else has done this. Rooted for the guy they "married" or have always been more atracted too, not just because Edward is the hero or Romeo, but because they truly can see themselves falling for him.

I know weird post, but hopefully you have read the books and understand my weirdness.

It's a BOY!

Well after 9 months of waiting Dalon Anthony Corralez is finally here. I went into labor Saturday the 22nd at noon, and Sunday the 23rd at 11:55am he finally came into the world. It was such an amazing experience. Because I had a C-section with Coytt the Dr. couldn't give me any drugs to speed labor along, so I had to go at my/Dalon's pace. I checked into the hospital at around noon on Saturday when my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart. Even though I was having strong contractions it took forever for my body to dilate. I didn't want an epidural because it slows labor down, and I wanted to be able to get out of bed and walk if I needed too, but after 15.5 hours of hard contractions 2 minutes apart Mark helped me decide to go ahead and get the epidural and get some rest. After the epidural I was able to sleep some, until my oxygen levels began to drop and they had to put me on oxygen, the mask was a little uncomfortable, but it did help me breathe better. I got my epidural at about 3am and by 6:30 I was at a 9 1/2 so we prepared to push. Mark and my nurse were great they helped me and encouraged me all the way. After about 4 hours of pushing I was exhausted. I started to cry and tell my nurse I couldn't do it any more, I just didn't have anything left in me. Dalon had passed the pelvic bone, but wasn't moving any farther down, and I felt I just couldn't do it anymore, so we asked about a C-section. The Dr. came in and told us that since Dalon was so far down a C-section was very risky and that a VBAC was safer for both baby and mother. She told me they wouldn't force me to do either, but to rest a little while and then make a decision. Mark decided it was time I received a priesthood blessing and so we called Josh to come to the hospital and assist Mark. This was the first blessing Mark has ever given 6since receiving the Melchizedek priesthood, and it was the most amazing, special, and important experience in my life so far. I am so thankful for the blessings of the gospel, the gift on the priesthood, and a husband who lives worthy of it's blessings and has faith in its amazing power. Josh came to the hospital and assisted Mark in blessing me which just filled the room with the spirit and gave me some much needed comfort. After Josh left we decided to keep on trying to have the baby naturally and not to have a C-section. The Dr. came in the room, and I began to push. Immediately Dalon's head appeared, we were so excited. They got me a mirror so I could see, and that was all the encouragement I needed. I pushed hard for 30 minutes and at 11:55am Dalon Anthony Corralez was born. The Dr. let me catch him as he came and immediately put him on my chest as Mark and I both cried and kissed each other and Dalon. It was the most amazing thing to watch him come into the world, and to actually experience the gift and power of our Heavenly Father. This was a great testimony to both Mark and I of the priesthood and it's sacred power. We are truly blessed to have this gift on our home. I came home on Tuesday and everything had been great so far. My mom and Dad and Brent and Marti are here helping out, and Coytt loves it. Thank you Josh and Meagan for all your help and support these last few weeks, we love you and are so lucky to have such great family! Thanks you Mandi for driving me to the hospital and taking care of Coytt you are such a wonderful little sister. I also appreciate all the calls from family who can't be here and their love and support, we are such a lucky family to have so many people in our lives who love and care for us. Here are some pictures and video of our growing family. Coytt loves being a big brother all ready as you can see. Coytt telling everyone about the new baby. Proud Big Brother! Coytt loves little Dalon. PROUD DADDY!

My Sneaky Sister

Last night Meagan and Josh invited us over for "Dessert and Games". She told me it was just a little family thing to hang out before I had the baby. Well luckily I actually got dressed and did my hair when we went over becuase it was not just dessert and games like she said, it was a surprise Diaper Shower for Mark and I. We were both pretty surprised. Thank you Josh and Meagan! Meagan had made my favorite things, a cheese ball and grape kool-aid, and some delicious brownies. We got lots of diapers for both Dalon and Coytt, thanks everyone who came. Meagan sure got me this time, I had no idea, but I love surprises so it was that much better and more fun for me. Now all we have to left to do is wait for baby Dalon to finally get here.

Fun Times

Last Saturday was a fun day for me. First I cashed in on the massage my wonderful mother-in-law got me for my birthday. Oh it was wonderful. I fell asleep twice during it, and really didn't want my hour to end. It was so nice to have all my muscle aches rubbed out and to be in such a peaceful room. I think I need to get a fountain for our bedroom they are so relaxing. After the massage Mark and I cleaned the house and got ready for the D-Backs Game. My dad got 9 tickets from his work and was kind enough to send his kids and their spouses and friends. It was an awesome game. We played the SL Cardnials it was a good game and we won. Not only did we enjoy free tickets we got a shirt, hot dog, popcorn, and a drink...thanks SRP :) It was so fun to see all the people from St. Johns and to hang out with family at one of America's greatest traditions Baseball and Hot Dogs, it doesn't get more American than that. Thanks Mom for watching the kids (Coytt and Brooklyn) while we went. We also stayed for the fireworks after the game, it was a pretty good show. All in all it was a very much needed day of fun and relaxation.

Mess Maker Mess Maker Make me a Mess!!!

This is why one of his nicknames is Destroyer. He can walk into a room and seconds later it is a mess. Considering the fact my nickname at that age was The Tazmaninan Devil (for pretty much the same reason) I guess I can't be too upset. "He gets it from his Mama!" Hopefully since Mark is the complete opposite Coytt will learn from him how to keep things in order as he gets older, because we all know that is a lifetime battle for me. But hey, at least I get some cute pictures out of it right?

New Hair Cut

I finally took the time to download my pictures onto my computer. Last week I got my hair cut....and I LOVE IT!!! It is a lot shorter than usual and requires straightening and more maintenance, but I still really like it. Thanks Bailey!

Coytt and his helmets

Coytt has these two army helmets that he just loves to wear. As you can see from the pictures he wears them anywhere, even sleeps in them. He actually just loves to have a hat on lately it is the helmet but other times it is a baseball cap. He even tries to wear them to church, that is the only place we won't let him, but everywhere else he has something on that curly little head of his.

Brooklyn comes to visit

Meagan had to go to the Dr. last week so she brought Brookie over for a little while. Coytt has finally learned to play with her and not try to wrestle her to the ground. They had a lot of fun together. We went upstairs so they could play with the toys in his room, and while I was switching out the laundry I heard them laughing in his room. I went to see what was so funny and I caught both of them jumping on his bed. I couldn't get any video of them jumping on the bed, but I got some of Brooklyn climbing and Coytt saying Brooklynn. Here are the videos and pictures from the day.

Go Diego Go Live!

Last night we took Coytt to the live performance of Go Diego Go (Thank you Grandma Barbara!)at ASU Gammage Theater and he had the time of his life. I wasn't sure how he was going to react to the big stage and the loud music, and all of the people, but he loved it. I was worried about parking and didn't want to walk far so I made Mark get us there early, well we were the first family in the doors and Coytt walked right up to the greeters and held out his hand for the Baby Jaguar Masks he was so excited. He kept saying "Go Diego Go," and growling like Baby Jaguar. When we got inside the theater he just smiled and ran toward our seats. Then when the show started he just stared wide eyed at the stage and watched intently. At one point he was so caught up in the show his mouth was partway open and he was drooling all down himself. When they would sing songs and dance he would stand on Mark's lap and dance and wave his arms and clap along it was so darn cute! I of course being the emotional wreck that I am seeing how happy he was started crying before the show even got started, I felt like such a dork until this other mother told me she bawled all through the first part of the Wiggles because she was so happy for her little girl. So I guess I am not the only cry baby mommy out there. I cried again when I saw him dancing and singing along; I was just so darn happy :) Mark enjoyed the show and watching his son sing and dance along. We just had a great time! And first thing this morning Coytt walks in our room with his Jaguar mask saying "Go Diego Go" and growling. Even though it was only 6am it was so adorable to wake up to such a happy little boy.

Summer Fun

Well it has been a long time since I have posted any pictures so I have quite a bit to add. It has been quite an eventful Summer. Brent and Marti came to visit. We took Brent to the Science Museum and both of them to Gameworks. Marti and I baked my first homemade apple pie, sorry the picture is of it half eaten :) Coytt has learned to love the water and has become quite the fish. He loves to put on his swimming suit and go to the pool. We took Coytt to his first MLB game with Mark's childhood buddy Rickey GO D-BACKS!! And now we are just loving hanging out with eachother and visiting with family. I wish we were headed to SJ for the 24th but with all my contractions and stuff I am nervous of what the altitude change will do to me, so we will be staying home this year, but we hope everyone else that goes has fun.

Mark taught Brent how to make Texas Party Burgers. It was so cute watching them and listening to Mark explain every little step including washing hands and cleaning up the mess as you go.

Coytt loved the science museum and wanted to try everything and push all the buttons.

Future Pilot?

Coytt Dancing

Well it turns out Coytt like his mother loves to dance. He has learned how to change the radio station until he finds something he likes and then he just dances around the room. He will even get up and start dancing if a comercial on TV has music. It is so cute to watch him stop what he is doind and just start to boogey around the room. One video is vertical because of the way we were holding the camera, and I don't know how to rotate it, sorry.

...and the Dr. Said

Well I went to the Dr. today and it was a pretty eventful visit. I had my glucose test and that went fine, except my iron is low so they did a full blood test to measure my blood count more completely. Baisically I need more green veggies and iron suplements for now until the results come back and the Dr. knows more. Next we of course checked the heartbeat and like always Dalon kicked hard enough that the doppler lifted off my belly. Dr. Kimbro laughed and looked pretty surprised to see such a strong kicker. After everything checked out ok with the heartbeat we discussed whether I should have another C-section or not, and we decided that I should. Mainly becuase the reason I had one with Coytt is becuase he didn't progress, and since I did actually push and he still didn't progress she said that this baby probably wouldn't either. Baisically I can't push babies out on my own so surgery is pretty much necessary. So we scheduled the C-section for September 26th. I can't believe it is only 11 weeks away. I told Dr. Kimbro about the contractions and she checked me and it turns out I do need to take it easy becuase I am 50% effaced and his head is down. She is running some tests to see if any of the labor hormones are present and when we get those results she will let me know what action to take. For now she just said to take it easy and not push myself too hard. That's all for now. We are excited to have an actual date and that the baby is doing well and growing properly. We will keep ya'll posted.

Good News

I got the contractions under control! I can now get out of bed and do some stuff around the house. I just can't go shopping becuase when I push the grocery cart or walk to long they start up again. So I may be confined to the house, but at least I can get out of bed. Hopefully I can keep them under control for the next 10 weeks or so.

Bedrest Bummer

Well looks like this baby thinks it is time to be here already. Yesterday I started having pretty bad contractions and now standing or sitting up for too long cause them to start, so I along with stong directions from my mom have restricted myself to the bed. I can't even get up to go potty without my stomach starting to get tight and contract, so I am being very careful to stay down as much as possible. I still have 12 weeks to go, but he can come safely in 10, hopefully I won't be down the whole time, and I can get control of it, but if I am I will definately need some good reading sugestions, and if you are bored feel free to call or stop by, I am sure I will be bored of being a bedrest bum pretty quickly. Mark is a great help and is taking care of Coytt and making sure I stay down, but outside company is always welcome. Well I better get back to the bed, even this short time at the computer is starting the pains, so I will have to go lie down until Mark is here to type for me. (That sweetheart is out doing the grocery shopping and getting everything ready for lunch and dinner). I will keep ya'll updated on what's going on and what the Dr. says after the holiday and I see her.

My Husband the Chef

Last night I came home to a wonderful suprise. As I opened the door from the garage I smelled the most amazing thing coming from our kitchen. I looked over and there was Mark towel over his shoulder and spoon in his hand standing over the stove. He had decided he was going to cook dinner and boy did he. I think last night's meal was the best meal I have had in months! He made this amazing carne asada and Fajita chicken, with rice, beans, guacamole, and homemade salsa (that was absolutely perfect). Everything was so amzingly perfect. It was like angels were dancing on my tongue with each bite. Mark has made meals before and they are always good, but this one topped them all and has definately topped anything I have ever made. I am so lucky to have such a talented husband! Coytt loved it too eating a large bowl himself. So next time Mark asks what I want for dinner I know exactly what I am going to say and he better be ready to get to work :)

Update

Wow it has been a long time since I posted something. Well a lot has happened in the last month. We went to the Rothlisberger Reunion which was a blast. Mark rode his first horse, and learned that he really likes camping. Coytt had fun with all the family and being able to run all over the place and get dirty. We only took our video camera so sorry no pictures. When we got back from the reunion we moved into our new home in Gilbert, AZ. It is a 4 bed 3 bath with a loft and we are loving it. Our new ward seems to be really friendly and we love the location. I have some pictures of the interior, we have had a lot of fun decorating everything. My master bed/bath are my favorites although I am not done with them yet.

Our dining room

Our masterbath, the picture of the towel below gives a better idea of the color scheme in our bath/bedroom colors.

Guest room, Grandma Rothlisberger made the quilt.

The living room.

We also got some fish for Coytt and he loves watching them swim around. In our bedroom we have a Betta and a Guppy living together and downstairs we have Balloon Mollies and a couple of others that I can't remember the names. One of our Mollies had babies the day we brought her home, and we learned that once a Molly has babies every month after that they have 100 or more babies, so if anyone is interested in free baby fish next month just let us know and I am sure we will have plenty to give away.

After we got settled in in our new home, we went to St. Johns for Mallory's reception, it was fun to see all the family and to take a little vacation from the city. I got Mark a .22 for Father's Day and so he spent most of the weekend out in the boonies with his brothers-in-law spotlighting and looking for rabbits and other small "game". He is becoming quite the country boy :) I spent time helping my mom with the reception, and when Mark was home he was a great asset in helping with the reception as well. Coytt loved playing with Uncle Brent, Aunt Marti and Aunt Mandi's new puppy Earl. Here are some pics of that fun weekend.

Coytt was so tired at the reception, but you can sort of get the idea of how handsome he looked.

As for everyday life here in the Corralez home things are pretty much the same. Coytt is growing so quickly and learning new things everyday (sometime this week he learned the word "no" and has been using it a little too much) he has mastered the stairs and can go up and down them easily and that takes a lot of worry off of mom and dad's shoulders. Mark is preparing to go back to school and together we are preparing to be sealed in the Temple (we are wating for our ward to find someone to teach the temple classes and then it won't be long after we take the 6 classes), we are getting excited for baby Dalon to get here; only 3 more months, and we can't wait.

I will post pictures of the outside of our house as soon as I take some, and I will get some updated pictures of Coytt (with his face showing) as soon as possible. But for now that should catch us up and hopefully I will be a better blogger this month.

Too Cute for Words

Mark and I have been trying to teach Coytt that there is a baby in mommy's belly so I will rub my belly and say "baby, baby" or "baby Dalon" (we have decided to name him Dalon Anthony) and Mark will do the same when he is home; rub my belly and tell Coytt "baby, baby". Well yesterday Coytt was running around the house in just his diaper and he got to the living room and stopped and looked at me and started rubbing his belly in a cirle and saying "baby, baby, baby". I couldn't stop laughing, he is so stinkin' adorable! All we have to do now is ask where's the baby or say the word baby and he lifts his shirt and rubs his belly saying "baby, baby, baby." He is too cute!

Oh BOY!

Well we went to the Dr. yesterday and had my 20 wk ultrasound and it looks like we are having another BOY! I of course am very excited, Mark is happy, but sad because he was so excited to have daddy's little girl. Coytt I am sure would be happy either way, but he does need a brother to wrestle with. The ultrasound went great, he moved a lot and it looks like we have another active little boy on our hands. Everything is fine and working properly the tech said. That always makes me feel good. The only problem we have now is thinking of boy names. We had a a girl name all picked out, but I have not been able to think of boy names. So if you ahve any suggestions for a little boys name please let me know.

I've Been Tagged

Meagan tagged me here's how it works, write 7 things/habits about yourself and then tag 7 other people and refer them to your blog for instructions.

1) I love to dance, any kind of dancing. I always say I am going to enroll in classes and I never do, but hopefully after this baby that will be how I lose the weight...dance classes. I am sure I will embarrass my children plenty when I dance around the store when a good song comes on, or as I dance around the living room even if their friends are around. It is just such a wonderful and free feeling.

2) I have a new found love for the gospel and want to have as gospel centered home and life as possible. I never thought I would feel this way or have the priorities that I do now, but I want to be as close to my Heavenly Father as possible. Although I am afraid sometimes that I will never be as spiritual as I desire, I am working hard at becoming more so every day.

3) I love beans and salsa. I could eat beans every day for the rest of my life and I would be happy. Pinto beans are my favorite followed by refried pinto beans. I will eat black beans, but pinto are my fav. I have been known to eat a whole jar of salsa in one sitting, once I start I just can't stop.

4) I love being a mother. I never thought that I would be such a sofite or such a cry baby, but being a mom has totally changed me. Every new thing he learns every challenge he overcomes brings me to tears because I am so pleased with him. I love playing with my son and singing to him. Even when he upsets me and I feel I am stressed beyond belief I love being his mom, and I know that no matter what I will always love him.

5) I am the most disorganized person you will ever meet. No matter how hard I try things just always seem disorganized and chaotic around me. It drives my husband bonkers, but it is just something that has always been a part of me, and even when I try it is a chaotic mess. I wish I had Mark's or Meagan's skills in this department, but I was definately not blessed with the skill of organization.

6) I love being spontaneous. If Mark said at 2am Saturday morning lets go to Vegas and visit your Grandpa Romine I would have no problem jumping in the car and going. I love to just let things happen. I am sure this adds to my disorganization, but I just love the feeling of doing things on the fly. It doesn't have to be that extreme either. Even not planning the weekend and letting it all just happen is exciting to me.

7) I love to snuggle. I don't mind when Mark, Coytt and I are all smashed together on the love seat, or the nights when Mark and I had to share a twin bed. I love being snuggled and snuggling back. I am glad my husband doesn't go completely crazy when I sit on the same cussion as him and just snuggle right up against him all the time.

Well that's about it 7 interesting or not so interesting facts about Monette Corralez.

Springtime Fun

I planted some chilis and tomatoes in pots on our patio and my first chili has started to grow. I am so excited. I am waiting for the tomatoes, Meagan already has some red ones on hers, so I need to catch up. I was so proud at Relief Society last week when they asked who had veggies growing at their home and I got to raise my hand...I am a true Mormon woman now :)

Too Cool isn't he?

We went to the park with Josh and Meagan. The wind was out of control, but we still had a lot of fun. I never knew there was such thing as too much wind for a kite. We had Mark's F-16 kite and it was an adventure to keep that thing in the air. We would get it up and then it would spin out of control and take a nose dive into the ground. It almost took Coytt out at one time. It was fun being out with the family though, and watching Josh try to fish in the wind. Coytt loved chasing the ball all over, and I didn't even have to throw it because the wind just blew it all over the grass.
